What Vaporwave text is
Vaporwave text is made of fullwidth forms: Latin letters, digits and punctuation drawn as wide as a Chinese or Japanese character, so they line up in East Asian text. Unicode keeps them in the Halfwidth and Fullwidth Forms block, and the generator also swaps your spaces for the wide ideographic space. Fullwidth letters have no accented versions, so accented letters stay normal width.
Every Wide (vaporwave) character comes from the Halfwidth and Fullwidth Forms block, which Unicode added in version 1.1. The Wide (vaporwave) alphabet is complete in one place: no letter has to be borrowed. It is one of the safest styles: current iPhones, Android phones and Windows PCs draw it with their built-in fonts. Accented letters are left as normal letters here: “Café Zoë” → Ｃａｆé Ｚｏë.
