About EmojiKite

EmojiKite is a free website for the characters you cannot find on your keyboard: symbols, fancy text, kaomoji and emoji to copy with one tap, plus small tools that tell you what a character is, count characters and find blank ones. It works in twelve languages and needs no app and no account.

Every page puts the thing you came for first: the symbol, the generator or the tool. Explanations, typing shortcuts and questions come underneath.

Where the facts come from

Code points, official names, blocks and the Unicode version of each character come from the Unicode Character Database, version 18.0.0. Names in your language and emoji names come from the Unicode CLDR project, version 48.2.0. Look-alike characters come from the Unicode security data (confusables).

Keyboard shortcuts were read from the real keyboard layout files of Windows and macOS, not copied from other websites. The page How we make this site explains each source and what still waits for a check on real devices.

How we check

The data is rebuilt from the original files by scripts, and automated tests compare the results with a list of known-correct values (for example the code point of the degree sign, the Alt code of ©, or the name of √ in Japanese). Fancy-text styles are tested so they never produce a code point that Unicode has not assigned.

Some things can only be checked on a real phone or computer, such as whether a symbol shows as a box on an older Android. We say so on the page where it matters, and we fix what readers report.

What we leave out

We do not list hate symbols, and we do not offer logos of brands, teams or apps. Platform names such as Instagram or Discord appear only to describe where a piece of text works; EmojiKite is not affiliated with them.

How the site is paid for

EmojiKite is free. In the future it may show a small number of ads served by Google AdSense, kept away from copy buttons. There are no paid placements and no sponsored content.

Who runs it

EmojiKite is run by the operator of emojikite.com, based in Poland. Questions and corrections: contact@emojikite.com.
