Nickname generator with symbols
An invisible character (U+3164 HANGUL FILLER) was added. Some games remove it or reject the name, so test it before you pay for a name change.
Fortnite: 3–16 characters (official limit). Rows over it turn amber.
How to make a nickname with symbols
- Type your name. Every row updates as you type.
- Pick your game to check the length, and if you like a letter style or a symbol before and after.
- Tap a row to copy it, then paste it on the game’s rename screen.
Games count characters in different ways. A frame like ꧁ ꧂ is one character per side, but fancy letters are two UTF-16 units each, and some games count those twice. Where we have an official limit, rows over it turn amber. For more letter styles open the fancy text generator; for an empty-looking name see the invisible character page.
Name limits by game
We only show limits published on the game’s or platform’s own help pages. For the others we haven’t found an official number yet.

Games change their rules. If a name is rejected, try a shorter one or remove the rarest symbol.
Tips for a nickname that works
- Keep it readable: one frame and one or two symbols look better than five.
- Each game sets its own allowed characters. If Fortnite rejects your name, swap ꧁ ꧂ for a simpler frame like 【 】 or ★.
- Fancy letters may count double. Check the length here or in the character counter before you rename.
- A blank-looking name uses the invisible character U+3164. Some games accept it and others remove it, so test it first.
Questions people ask
Which symbols can I use in a game name?
Most mobile games accept common Unicode symbols like ★ ♡ 亗 彡 and frames like 『 』. Each game sets its own rules, and some reject anything but letters and numbers. If a name fails, remove the rarest symbol first.
Why does my nickname count more characters than I see?
Some characters are stored as two UTF-16 units, and marks like the one in ×͜× are extra characters you can’t see. Games that count units see a longer name than the one on screen.
How do I make an invisible nickname?
Tap “Invisible” to insert U+3164 HANGUL FILLER, a character that looks empty. Some games accept it as a name, others strip it. More options are on the invisible character page.
Can I get banned for symbols in my name?
Symbols are normal text. Games act against offensive words or impersonation, not against ★ or 亗. Read the game’s naming rules if you are unsure.
How do I change my name in Fortnite?
Look for a rename option on the profile or settings screen. Many games charge an item or in-game currency for a name change, so preview the name here first.
